BioLink in Brief

Purpose

BioLink Canada-Ireland is an association of members from the biotech/life science research, commercialization, and business communities in Canada and in Ireland, and others who are similarly engaged. The aims of the organization are to connect and foster relations and interactions among members for mutual benefit, and to provide support for the development of the biosciences in commercial, academic and government settings in Canada and Ireland.

Origins

BioLink Canada-Ireland is based upon the success of the BioLink USA-Ireland network, founded in 2003 and which boasts 10 chapters throughout the United States. The long-term goal of BioLink Canada-Ireland is to create a parallel national network in Canada based upon this model.

Operation

BioLink Canada-Ireland is based out of Toronto, and has been set up with the support of Enterprise Ireland, the Irish Government agency responsible for the development of Irish industry.
